{January 20, 2012}   So what is Miche anyway?

There are many people who are wondering…what’s the big deal with Miche?

Hold on to your shorts, things are about to get exciting up in here!

Let me give you a tour through all things Miche!

  • Changeable Shells: Instead of dumping your bag out and putting your belongings into another bag each time you change your outfit or have the need to go into a different scene (high class evening dinner to a family picnic for example), you can swap out the outside of your bag and it’s done.  What normally took minutes and a whole lot of frustration, now takes five seconds as you walk out the door…literally!
  • Interchangeable Parts: Most of the Miche products work on any and all of the Miche base bags!  If you are a woman who enjoys carrying several different sizes of handbags this should be music to your ears!
  • Different Sizes: Miche offers two structured base bags (Classic and Petite) and two slouchy style bags (Demi and Prima).  All four base bags have their own selection of shells to dress up the outside of the bag.  Many of the patterns are available through out all four sizes.
  • Earn FREE Product: All you have to do is contact me to set up a home show, catalog show or online show.  If your show brings it at least $200 in sales, you score free and discounted product!  It’s that easy!

Cheers,

Andrea

{January 19, 2012}   Two Boys, One Room, HUGE MESS!

Who knew that two boys could make such a HUGE mess?!  Good night!

Our family has recently started using a family schedule.  My oldest boy is in the process of being diagnosed ADD, my husband is ADD and the rest of us have the responsibility to help them function as part of the group.  My husband and I sat down and decided the best way to do that was to set out guidelines of when certain tasks would be completed each day of the week.  This is what we came up with:

6:30 am: Wake up and do morning routine (make bed, feed dogs, let them out to potty, brush teeth and get dressed)

7:30: School

3:15-4pm: Free time

4-5pm: Chores

5pm: Dinner

Following Dinner: Homework

7:30 Night routine & Free Time (shower, brush teeth, set clothes/school supplies out for the morning)

8:30: Bedtime (get drink, go potty, hugs/kisses, lights out)

So far it’s worked pretty well.  We have a chore chart that the boys use for the 4:00 time slot.  I will post pictures of that another day.  The other items are routine responsibilities that have to be done everyday.  For each of these areas on the schedule, we award poker chips for work completed.  At the end of the night, we allow them to count their tokens and change them in for something in the prize box if they have gotten 20 (or any multiple of 20) or save it to cash out on payday.

HOWEVER…there are moments I still want to pull my hair out!  Take this picture for example:

Pictured is my oldest son (carrying the telescope) and my youngest son.  My middle son is standing behind me.

Let me back up a second.  Last week, son 1 and son 2 decided they were going to rearrange their room without me.  The beds, dressers and toy boxes were put in “the perfect place.”  Trying not to crush their ambitions, I let it be.  After all we have to pick our battles, right?  A few days later?  A new design and this picture is the end result of their “creativity.”

Now this is a huge room.  The picture doesn’t do justice to the true magnitude of the mess.  Under the beds…I’m pretty sure something tried to grab me and pull me under there.  The wire cubes in the lower left hand corner of the picture…completely overflowing with I don’t even know what.

At 3:30 we put a halt to free time and made everyone meet in their room.  From that time until 9:30, we put their room back together.  My husband’s Job: Whip cracker. The boy’s job: Salvaging anything they could before I took over. My job: Trash bag patrol! I was able to get a total of five bags of trash removed from their room. Doodles, old homework, grocery receipts, Christmas wrapping paper, toy instructions, broken toys…you name it.  I took the following picture at 8:45:

Today when they get home, we are tackling the closet areas and finishing up some of the tasks that didn’t get completed last night.

What are your family’s secrets to keeping everything tidy and in place?  Do you use a reward system?  Do they have set chores for each day?  Do they perform their tasks on their own or with guidance?

Cheers,
Andrea

Are you tired of having the same ol’ home party?  Here are some ideas for you to spice up your home show.

Wine & Cheese: Make it a sophisticated evening!

Paradise Island: Make it a “beach” night, complete with umbrella drinks and beach towels.

South of the Border: Bring on the margaritas and sombreros!

Fashion Diva Soirée: How fun is this? Everyone comes in party dress: have tiaras and boas to wear too. How about a catwalk to show off outfits and new Miche Bags, or a contest for “Best Diva?”

Mother/Daughter Tea Party: Make it a real occasion with a variety of teas to sample as well as scones, cookies, mini cucumber sandwiches or other delectable finger foods.

Dessert Party: Sweet treats and shopping too? It’s every woman’s dream come true! You can either provide a dessert sampler yourself or ask everyone to bring their favorite to share.

Midnight Madness: In the summer months, throw a patio party late at night complete with tiki torches, and serve nightcaps.

Chocolate Lovers’ Delight: Really—what more needs to be said about this? All-chocolate desserts and purse shopping? Yes, please!!

Be the first in your circle of friends to do something different.  Your home show will be all the rage for weeks to come!

Cheers,

Andrea

January is right on the mark!  You can search all over the web and find out what experts are saying about the upcoming months.  I found this blog and fell in love with what she had to say about the colors and styles to come.

Two New Shells for Each Base

White interchangable handles with links

Muted colors, yet vibrant.  Simple style yet it packs a powerful and everlasting punch.  All of the new releases are perfect for everyone…the fashionista, the business woman, a soccer mom and a college girl.  How many products do you know that can cover so many ages and walks of life?

So you see these bags and like them but think to yourself, “You know, I can’t see myself actually owning a pink or purple bag.  I don’t have much to go with it.”  Take the advice given on the same blog I mentioned before.  As long as you can see color, you can match and accessorize with color!  Think of your body as canvas and you as the artist.  Following the simple tips by Alysea on a regular will get you looking amazing without even thinking about it after a while.

Until next time!

Andrea

{January 13, 2012}   The Enigma I call life!

The who, what, when, where and why of my blog!  Let’s dig right in!

Who: Andrea, independent representative of Miche.  I am a mother of three and have been married for 9.5 years (gasp! Is that possible?!)

What: My goal for this blog is to keep my readers up to date on the latest fashions and style trends as well as introducing you to hot new products and reviews.  I also want to share my experiences with being a mother and wife.  Ultimately, when someone click on my blog, I want them to leave feeling like they have learned something and can apply what they have learned in practical ways.

When: I will be posting blogs on Fridays and very possibly other days in between.

Where:  You can find me many other places on the web:

Why: I became a mother for the first time in the summer of 2003.  After that I struggled with finding myself and making myself feel like I could dress and act in a way contrary to the stereotypical mom.  This blog will no doubt ooze with embarrassing and funny stories of myself as I have found my way and lessons I have learned while getting to where I am now.

In the spring of 2004, I experienced the first day of being a stay-at-home mom.  Over the past 8.5 years, I have gone in and out of the work place.  It’s difficult providing for your family when your heart yearns to be at home with your little ones.  I know, girl!  I’ve been there.  That’s what lead me to Miche, actually.  Last March, I gave birth to our 3rd son and knew that I had to make a job (in home childcare) transition into a career all the while taking care of him!

I have read so many blogs and watched vlogs on youtube that I felt like it was my turn to give back to society in a meaningful, supportive way!  Feel free to follow my journey.  Promise me one thing:  if you learn something or find something funny, interesting or intriging, let me know by commenting or linking to my blog.

Cheers,

Andrea
